Food is an emotional quotient and often is the bedrock of many relationships. It could be this quality that made it ever-changing and growing. But there are a few things about it that are difficult to change, as India’s obsession with Maggi.

Since the year 1982 when Maggie has launched in the Indian market, Maggi comes a long way in becoming an Indian household name. From school days to teendom to adulting, Maggi is the only constant. Even during a crisis like this pandemic, Maggie has been a life-saver for those struggling with cooking. This could be the reason why the product sales shot up 25% during the times of lockdown.

But no one eats Maggie as-is. The step-wise graphical instructions printed on the bright yellow plastic wrapper of the product won’t limit the imaginations running wild in the Indian minds with the way it can be cooked. There are hundreds of ways that Indians cook Maggie. It starts from Masala Maggi, Chicken Maggi, Egg Bhurji Maggi to Prawn and tomato Maggie to Maggi samosa and the list simply goes on. The potential of personalization gave way to Maggi pop-up shops that are famous in many urban cities of India.

The Maggi 2-Minute Noodle, in other terms, is a phenomenon in the country. In 2014, according to Fortune, Indians consumed 400,000 tons of it. And by the looks of it, every other day a new Maggi recipe is born in India.

Here we take you to some widely popular, easy, and unique Maggi recipes.

Indian Tadka Maggi

Indian Tadka Maggi in other words is the classic desi Maggi. All it takes is one finely chopped onion and a tomato, one chopped green chilli, ½ tsp of coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, mustard seeds, and salt to taste.
Boil Maggi in a vessel with minimum water. After that, heat sufficient oil on a pan and saute chopped onion, followed by tomato until onion turns yellow and tomato soft and juicy. Add masala along with the Maggi masala tastemaker and cook for a minute. Later, mix Maggi into the pan and stir well. Tada!

Egg Maggi

Egg Maggi is one of the popular choices of Maggi recipe. The simpleness of Maggie and the nutritious values of the egg makes it the perfect match. To make this – Egg Bhurji + Masala Maggi combination – all you need is one tsp oil, two eggs, one finely chopped onion, green chilli and tomato, a handful of chopped coriander leaves, and salt to taste.
Cook Maggi by boiling it in a vessel. Meanwhile, sauté two onions, chilli, and one tomato in another vessel. Later break two eggs into this and sauté until it’s cooked.
Mix it with Maggie and it’s done!

Maggi BHEL

If you want something to munch or a dish to snack with evening tea, well then Maggi Bhel is the one. This easy recipe only needs basic ingredients such as oil, onion, tomato, and green chilly.
Break Maggi into small pieces. Roast it in oil on a pan. Continue doing it until the noodles turn golden brown. It would take only about like 3 minutes.
Now mix the roasted noodles with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chillies together in a bowl. Add tomato ketchup, tastemaker, salt, and sauce of your choice to taste. Maggi Bhel is ready to munch.

Creamy Mushroom Maggi

Missing restaurant food much during these times of lockdown? But you’re just a beginner at cooking? Well, then the super-easy Creamy Mushroom Maggi can assure you the satisfaction of restaurant food. The ingredients include butter, onion, garlic, mushroom, oregano, and black pepper
Boil cakes of Maggi and keep them aside. Take some butter and heat it in a pan. Add some sliced onions and garlic in the butter and saute for two minutes. Once it’s done, add thin slices of mushrooms to it. Sprinkle some salt, black pepper, and oregano. And add cream and cheese. Once it’s stirred well, mix it with cooked Maggi.

Prawn Maggi

For those who love seafood, Prawn Maggi is the right choice. The recipe is pretty easy to make. To make this, all we need is sesame oil, onion, ginger, coriander leaves, oyster sauce, and green prawn.
Heat sesame oil in a pan and add onion and garlic. Saute for a minute and add green prawn. Stir fry the prawn for about five minutes. Now add maggie/noodles to the mixture along with oyster sauce and stir fry for another 2 min. Your delicious Prawn Maggi is ready to serve.

Tandoori Maggi

If you’re craving for something hot and spicy, then you need to try out Tandoori Maggi. Easily prepared in under 20 minutes, Tandoori Maggi is one of a kind Indian style of preparing Maggi.
The first step is the preparation of the tandoori sauce. For that, mix up garlic, ginger, coriander leaves, green chilies & mace paste with all the dry masalas. Add 1/3rd cup hung curd to this. After that marinate the bell peppers and diced onion in the curd mixture for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the Maggi noodles without any masala mix.
Later, heat oil on a pan and add the tandoori sauce and cook the veggies until it turns soft. Add the Maggi noodles and stir after that. Your super-simple tandoori Maggi is ready!

Cheesy Maggi

Maggi and cheese is a combination loved by cheese lovers all over. Not just that it’s a perfect evening snack, Cheesy Maggi is quite simple to cook. To make this we need; chilli, garlic, onion, veggies (tomatoes, capsicum, carrot), sweetcorn, Maggi, and 2 slices of cheese.
Firstly, saute chilli and garlic in oil. Add onion, tomato, capsicum, carrot, and sweetcorn. Stir occasionally and cook these veggies for a minute without cover. Further, add 1(1/2) of water and put 2 slices of cheese. Mix well until cheese melts. Boil for a minute with the cover closed. Mix in between and continue to cook until noodles are cooked well.

Mayo Maggi

Mayo Maggi with cheese is one of the most delicious Maggi recipes. Mayo Maggi follows a slightly different recipe than that of Cheese Maggi. All we need for the recipe is 2 packs of Maggi, 500ml water, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, bread mix, and coriander (optional for garnishing).
Start by boiling half a liter of water and add Maggi Masala mix to it. Add 1tsp of mayonnaise and sprinkle the cheese. Cover it for 30-40sec on flame. Later, add two packs of noodles and stir until it gets cooked. Switch off flame when all water dries up.

Hostel life, midnight snacking, street food craze, and the lack of cooking skills have turned Maggie into more than just a 2-minute noodle.
